About — The Story
The Twelve was born out of a conversation between two friends who kept noticing the same thing: the leaders around them were lonely.
Not for lack of success. Not for lack of community in the surface-level sense. But beneath the calendars, the decisions, and the responsibility — there was a quiet isolation that nobody was talking about. Leaders were pouring themselves out constantly and almost never getting poured into. The rooms available to them were full of networking and small talk, but short on honesty and depth.
Birmingham
One of the most overly churched cities — yet our leaders feel lonely.
The Twelve exists to change that.
Michael Abrams and Michael Eady didn’t set out to build another group. They set out to build something different —
a space where leaders could stop performing and start being known.
Michael Abrams
Michael Abrams brings a deep background in pastoral ministry, spending years creating environments where people could be honest, whole, and spiritually grounded. Recently, he stepped away from full-time vocational ministry to pursue opportunities where he believes his gifts can have even greater impact — and The Twelve is central to that calling. He leads the cohorts.
Michael Eady
Michael Eady brings extensive leadership experience in the secular space, with a firsthand understanding of the pressures high-capacity leaders face outside the walls of the church.
Together, they built The Twelve for the leader who has everything on paper and is still searching for something real.

Most participants bring The Twelve to their organization as a leadership development investment.
Healthy organizations know that developing their leaders is one of the highest-leverage things they can do. Research from the Association for Talent Development shows companies regularly invest 1–5% of revenue or payroll in leadership development — and many senior leaders direct a portion of that budget toward peer cohort experiences like The Twelve.
Because the work done inside The Twelve directly sharpens leadership clarity, decision-making, and personal health, organizations often see it as one of the most practical uses of their development dollars.
Some men choose to invest personally, but in most cases the company carries the cost — as part of its broader commitment to building leaders who last.
